Bill Hardesty (USA)

 Nomination
We back winners… no sooner had we profiled (June 2008) this ace match race tactician and really, really talented young helmsman than he rewards us by winning the 2008 Etchells Worlds against an 83-strong field in Chicago.  Why they won
Big postbag! ‘Bill’s the best’ – Maryann Blinkhorn; ‘Billy is No. 1’ – Sherry Hardesty; ‘Good luck!!! Love ya!’ – Debbie Stephens. Plus there were some blokes... ‘A myth’ – Danilo Fabbroni; ‘Smart, intuitive, crafty and just damned fast! Should be yachtsman of the year’ – Steve Horwitz; ‘Great sailor, great winner’ – Jack Tracksler.
