Launched on International Women’s Day in March last year, the World Sailing Trust was tasked with undertaking a strategic review into Women in Sailing.
Last month’s Seahorse Sailor of the Month Andrew Pindar has long been frustrated by the stagnation of the sport in terms of its lack of progress in embracing inclusivity and diversity. It is fair to say that Andrew has been a true champion of sailing at all levels for the past 40 years and particularly of women in the sport. It was his belief that the sport could, and should, do better that led him to fund this independent study. Its results have provided a benchmark that has determined the current situation within the sport and the extent of any gender imbalance.
