Even all the foam sheets intended to disguise the shape of NZL 92 can't hide the similarity in overall form with her predecessor NZL 84, top boat in a tough European ACC season. After all the false-dawns of Team New Zealand's complex and fragile ACC designs of 2003, imagine the joy - and relief - in this most-competitive of sports teams of being able to confirm that they are happy enough with the current design path to simply wish to refine it further

October 16 2006, Auckland, New Zealand: a cold windy day which is pretty typical for this time of year. The base is a hub of activity as NZL 92 is being readied for launching and sea-trialling. Needless to say it is a very exciting time as the opportunities in front of us are plentiful.
