Where's all the fun gone?Yacht racing is a professional sport at the top. This might go against the grain of how you might wish it to be, but professionalism arrived some years ago. That is a good thing in terms of the level we compete at. Boats and teams have never been so prepared for racing on the race course, sails get more recuts, masts are tuned better and instruments are better calibrated. Sailors do their job far better than the old days. And they get paid for it. But it is a double-edged sword - the fun factor is now a lot less.
