SIMPLER - but faster18-footer update - Rob BrownHaving been out of the 18ft skiff class for a number of years, I have noticed a growing number of changes recently with not only the Grand Prix style of 18ft skiff but also several significant developments with the Murray 18s used by some crews in Europe and by most of those in the Australian 18ft league. Some detailed research shows up growing variances between designs and technical detailing in the Murray 18 league in Australia, with less change among the Grand Prix 18s over the past five years. With so many people now sailing 18s around the world, and in particular with the growing strength of the European fleet, it is now imperative that qualified comparisons are made before any future rule changes are considered.
