  Though it had been widely expected, confirmation that this year's Royal Hawaiian Cup - renamed after Kenwood ended its long-running sponsorshop - had been cancelled sent shocks around the world's offshore event organisers. Kenwood Cup always struggled with its distant geography, but the unparalleled quality of the racing seemed enough compensation to keep people coming. How many reality checks does the sport need?
