Lets get serious

'An incorrect decision is not really a mistake until it goes uncorrected'

Unlike some of my previous tomes, this one has a more serious note about it. 'We' (what my dad would call the royal we...) should think with a clear head about the next Olympic Games and how best to
portray our sport - to ourselves and to the rest of the world. We are going to have a rethink about not having match racing and men's keel boats without spinnaker. As 'we' all know, last November 'we' decided to eliminate both of these disciplines from the Athens Olympic Games.

Without a doubt I have been outspoken about some things that have happened lately. Now the time has come to bring it all together and have a review. If we made a mistake maybe we can fix it.

Match racing: truth is it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's aggressive, demanding, very intense and not easy. But match racing has become a huge aspect of our sport, like it or not.
